Napster Reports Smaller Q2 Loss
The digital music service, Napster, has reported its Q2 figures which show a narrowing deficit compared with the same quarter from last year. Although Napster has seen a drop in its subscribers, its revenue is actually up 24% to $31.6m USD. Its net loss, quarter ending Sept 30, is $5.1m USD compared with $9m USD the previous year.
Napster is currently seeing an upturn in its sales of mobile music, and anticipates Q3 revenues to be about $33m USD. Napster’s management also predicts a positive cash flow in the current fiscal year.
Napster recently opened up its digital music service to non-pc users for the very first time by releasing a browser-based client.
