Cops Mistake MP3 Player for Gun
According to a BBC News report, a man in the UK was mistakenly arrested by police on suspicion of carrying a gun. A surprised Darren Nixon, 28, who works as a mechanic stepped off a bus while listening to music on his MP3 player and was arrested a short distance from his home. Nixon said, "Even when I got off the bus I didn't realize the police were pointing guns and telling me to stop, because I still had my earphones in and I wasn't looking." It later transpired that a member of the public had seen Mr. Nixon change tracks on his MP3 player while waiting for the bus and had mistakenly identified it as a gun.
Mr. Nixon has since received an apology from the police but voiced concern that he now has a police record. Police also took fingerprint and DNA samples while he was detained even though he was innocent.
If your MP3 player is vaguely gun shaped, then you may feel slightly paranoid after reading this story!

Okay, that just doesn’t make sense. So how many gun shaped mp3 players are out there???
People are really becoming paranoid!
Why it does not surprise me ?????? … sooooo tipical U.K. …. remember the poor brazilian guy killed by cops that took him by a terrorist … because of brown skin ?????!!!!! congratulations U.K. cops !!
it ain’t something only unique to the “uk cops”. unfortunately, given todays climate, security forces everywhere are in a state of paranoia. woe be to him who is different, especially if he’s from an asian country and brown skinned…
The police HAD to follow up, it was called in by a (moronic, clearly) member of the public. But why the hell do they have to retain this guy’s DNA and fingerprints now?
In the right light, holding a banana in public might look suspicious to some people, apparently.
