HDTracks Gives Away Free Album Download

Friday May 23, 2008

The new digital music service, HDtracks.com, is giving visitors to its website the chance to download a free album to promote its new store. All the tracks have been selected to create a custom compilation to showcase its high-resolution digital music catalog. By registering with your email address, you will be given a download link via email to download the music in, AIFF, FLAC, or 320 kbps MP3 format. HDTracks.com use a Java-based download manager to deliver the music tracks and you will need Java 1.5.0.10 or later installed on your computer to run it.

The new digital music service is hoping that consumers will 'hear the difference' by listening to their high resolution music compilation and choose their store in preference to popular services that typically only offer downloads at bitrates of 256kbps or lower. Commenting on the free album, Co-founder David Chesky said, "Our free Ultimate Download Experience album should prove to listeners once-and-for all that they can hear the difference between a CD-quality or high bit-rate file and a conventional download, even on an iPod."

To get your free album, go to the HDTracks website and click on the link for their Ultimate Download Experience album.
