Being able to access your iTunes library on different computers and iOS devices can involve tasks such as: copying, syncing files via cable, using third party software, or downloading from iCloud for example. However, this isn't the most convenient way to share your media collection when at home. While there's nothing wrong with using the methods above, a much friendlier way to ensure your song library is available to all your Apple devices (including computers too) is to use the Home Sharing feature in iTunes.
By default this option is disabled, but you can enable it to create your very own share space. Home Sharing takes advantage of your existing home network giving you the ability to share files on up to 5 computers (PC or Mac) . You can also stream music, videos, movies, and more to your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad using your network's Wi-Fi connection.
If you want to find out more about this feature, we've written an FAQ on iTunes Home Sharing that answers some common questions.
