Beats Electronics are well known for creating high-fidelity audio equipment such as headphones, earphones, and portable speakers, but the company now has big plans in the cloud music space. According to a report by Billboard, the new Beats music service is due to be launched this summer and will sport a large selection of curated playlists and be smart enough to know what you want. Smart playlists will be able to provide the right music according to your location.
The announcement was made at the Dive Into Media - AllThingsD conference by Beats Electronics co-founder, Jimmy Iovine. Explaining about the new service, Iovine said, "We are making tons and tons of curated lists. If you go the gym, we'll know where you are. So when you wake up in the morning, there will be a list waiting for you."
Billboard's report also goes onto to say that the Beats music service will also give artists information that will provide a useful insight into who is listening to their songs. There's no pricing on the service at the moment, but it is thought that it will be in line with other streaming music services.
