If you've got missing album art in your iTunes library then it's easy to fix. Even though there's software that can do this for you, you can directly add the missing artwork using the iTunes software. If you've added music to your iTunes library by ripping a CD, or importing MP3 files then you'll probably have songs that need artwork. This short tutorial will show you how you can use the iTunes Store to download missing album art.
Here's How:
Signing Into The iTunes Store
In order to add album art to your music library you first need to sign in to the iTunes Store. To do this, click on the iTunes Store menu item in the left pane (underneath STORE). Next, click the Sign In button and type in your Apple ID and password, followed by the Sign In button. If you haven't got an account, then you'll need to make one by clicking on the Create New Account button first and follow the on-screen instructions. If you haven't got the iTunes software then you can download the latest version for the Mac or PC from Apple's web site.
Viewing Your iTunes Library Using Cover Flow Mode
Cover Flow makes it easy to see the album art in your music library, and more importantly, see which songs are missing artwork. To view your iTunes music library, first click on the Music icon in the left pane (underneath LIBRARY). Next, click the View tab at the top of the main screen and choose the As Cover Flow menu item. Now, you will be able to see more clearly which songs are missing artwork -- you can also flick through your collection using the Cover Flow screen.
Adding Missing iTunes Album Art
Having flicked through your music library and located a track that needs album art, right-click on the track name in the lower half of the screen and choose Get Album Artwork from the pop-up menu. A message will then be displayed to ask if you want to download new artwork -- click on the Get Album Artwork button to accept. If the artwork is available from Apple, it will appear in your library.
